Zachys Debut! Burgundian Magic at Its Very Best! The 2015 Release from Domaine Fourrier! Ancient Pre-Cloned Vines Deliver From The Henri Jayer Protégé! Starting under $34!

The 2015 Burgundian vintage is a vintage we will be talking about for the next 50 years. Michel Lafarge says the 2015 vintage is comparable to the historic and exceptional 1929. The 2015s are marked with the structure and depth of the 2005 vintage, but the energy and vitality of the 2010 vintage. This is a very, very special vintage. It is a vintage that makes us want to back up the truck and buy the full lines of all the great addresses.

We could not be happier to kick off the 2015 Burgundy sales with Jean-Marie Fourrier, whose stylish wines will speak to you for years to come. In most offers, people say of Jean-Marie’s wines “if you’re lucky enough to get them...” Not here at Zachys, we know a good thing when we see it and have put together the deepest collection of Fourrier in the USA!

Domaine Fourrier is without question one of the greatest success stories Burgundy has ever seen! As a protégé of the great Henri Jayer, Fourrier describes his approach as “the philosophy of doing nothing,” putting all his faith in the 60 to 100-year-old ancient pre-cloned vines! Every wine lover is finally saying that quality is created in the vineyard and Fourrier proves it! At Zachys, after 72 years of working with the finest producers of Burgundy, we think that Jean-Marie Fourrier’s wines could be the finest of all. He is obsessive about fruit quality, often selling off all the fruit that doesn’t make the cut, which is most of everything under 30 years of age. He does not practice green harvesting, instead he does severe pruning in the winter to limit yields, creating juice that is insanely pure and pleasure-packed.

Jean-Marie’s wines are not only celebrated by collectors but they are on the top of many producers’ lists of wines they want to drink themselves! They are impressively balanced and captivating with finesse and aromatics that will haunt you.

Special pricing is valid through January 18th, 11:59pm, or while supplies remain available

All my best,
Andrew

94+ John Gilman: `The 2013 is a beautiful bottle in the making, offering up a nascently complex and black fruity mélange of cassis, black cherries, bonfire, dark soil tones, venison and a discreet framing of vanillin oak. Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Jean-Marie Fourrier 2014 (3L)
`Healthy medium red. More closed and less exotic than the Clos de Bèze. Dense, sappy and thick but youthfully tight, with the plum and redcurrant flavors showing much less obvious sweetness than the Clos de Bèze or Cherbaudes. This is more austere, with the serious tannins currently cutting off the… more >
