Welcoming the Winemakers! Starring Sbragia, Delille, and Madrigal
Saturday, April 5th | In-store | 12-4pm
Love domestic wine? Or are you a USA skeptic when it comes to Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon? Either way we’ve lined up one of our most ambitious tastings to date: we’re playing host to THREE principals from some of the top wineries today: Ed Sbragia (winemaker) of Sbragia Family Vineyards, Chris Upchurch (winemaker) of Delille Cellars, and Chris Madrigal (owner) of Madrigal Family Winery.
Sbragia Family Vineyards – North Coast
“Bigger than life veteran winemaker, musician and general bon vivant, Ed Sbragia continues to turn out a bevy of realistically priced wines that offer great value.” – Robert Parker
One of the biggest names in California today. Best known for their Chardonnays and Cabernets, the Sbragia family sources only from the best vineyards throughout Sonoma and Napa. Their consistently excellent stable of quality-yet-value-driven wines continue to overdeliver for the price.
Delille Cellars – Columbia Valley
“…a reference point estate. Both 2010 and 2011 are incredibly strong here, and represent some of the best wines I’ve tasted from them.” Jeb Dunnuck
Washington State is considered by some “the Bordeaux of the New World,” due to the stylistically similar wines produced. Delille made their name with their Bordeaux blends, and are experimenting with Rhone varietals to great success. Under the watchful eye of Chris Upchurch, this long-time favorite only seems to keep getting better!
Madrigal Family Winery – Napa Valley
With nearly 80 years of family history in Napa Valley, the wines of the Madrigal family are making their Zachys debut. Sourcing only from prime real estate in Napa, their lineup of wines has been wowing connoisseurs on the West Coast for years. Now that they’re here in New York, they’re ready to do the same for the East Coast! With Chris Madrigal at the helm and Ed Sbragia making the wines, you’re guaranteed a lineup of phenomenal wines, and you can see why we’re looking forward to hosting them!
