Zachys Loves New York Wine! Featuring the Best from the Empire State
Saturday, April 12th | 12-4pm | In-store
Our wine journeys may take us around the world, from Bordeaux to Tuscany to Napa Valley, but Zachys’ heart is in New York. We’ve always prided ourselves on our top-notch selection from the Empire State. For this leg of the journey we will be showcasing three of the major wine regions in our state: the Finger Lakes, Hudson Valley, and Long Island.
Hermann J Wiemer – Dundee, Seneca Lake
Some of the best Riesling in the Western Hemisphere comes from New York State, and Hermann J Wiemer is in large part responsible for that! Since the 1970s “HJW” has consistently raised the bar for East Coast winemaking, and its wines can now be found on restaurant lists throughout the world.
Paumanok Vineyards – Aquebogue, North Fork
The Massoud family and Paumanok are celebrating more than 30 years of winemaking from their home in Aquebogue, Long Island. They maintain a “passionate commitment to make fine wines” and their wines’ style hearkens to the Old World while embracing the new. If you haven’t made it out to the winery yet, now is your chance to try them!
Brotherhood Winery – Washingtonville, Hudson Valley
“America’s Oldest Winery” was founded in 1839 and has survived wars, Prohibition, and natural disaster, producing fantastic wine the entire way. They exist today as one of the premier destinations in the Hudson Valley, and after a recent modernization of their facilities, will remain so for years to come.
DOC’S DRAFT CIDERS – SUN, APRIL 13TH | 1-4PM | IN-STORE
The Hudson Valley is known worldwide for its orchards, and we’re putting an old favorite on display. Doc’s Draft helped spearhead the craft cider movement, and theirs just keep getting better and better!
